View Full Version : [Rant Warning] So I kind of told one of my managers to fuck off today.

Then was sent home, 30 minutes before my shift was to start. Tomorrow I'll find out if I'm fired or not. If I'm not I'll be surprised.

The rest of this was in poor taste, so I deleted it. I'm not one to whine, but this guy sits around and refuses to do any work. I usually have to go behind him and fix paperwork, re-count the register, etc because he can't do it right and leaving it messed up would make it look like I did something wrong after the register comes up short or the paperwork is off at the end of the night. Yet he feels like he can order the rest of us around. Plus he's a racist dickhead...

Anybody else have a boss like this? And then proceeded to tell them off in a very rude fashion?

While I cannot relate to the racism part, and my actual bosses are deadly people, the one manager I have is a complete self hating douche. Considering I am a prole, disliking my manager over my boss says something.

What exactly happened?

Just got the call saying "You're fired."

Nox: This manager can't do his job. He works two days a week and has a fat salary because he's the owner's neighbor/friend. He can announce in a moments notice he feels like going on vacation for a week, while the rest of us have trouble getting days off when we're sick. One guy I work with a few days a week without a manager. We're cool and run the shit like pros. One thing goes missing, it's somehow our fault. 'No, man, where the hell would I put 50 funnel cakes?!" "No, I don't give away beer, and no you can't dock my paycheck for shortages!" The other day he started complaining about how black customers are rude and don't tip ... to me. I got up and walked away and muttered 'What's wrong with you ...'

Crux of it all was when he complained the bathroom's dirty and to 'make damn sure i clean it tonight'. I said 'You're sitting on your ass as usual, you clean it." "That's your job!" "Fuck you, you don't do a damn thing here, nobody takes you seriously."

Then I leave for a minute, come back. Manager says "You done yet?" So I say "Seriously, fuck off. Shut up for a few minutes." Then he tells me to go home.

Have you tried going over his head to your boss? I am sorry to hear your story but that sounds like your only recourse at this point. If you are in good standing with your co-workers you might need them to vocalize their criticisms of your manager.

Don't you feel kind of good though? I know being unemployed sucks but that is a bad arse way to leave a job. I've walked off a few jobs and felt a wave of elation as I'm walking out the door knowing I'll never have to return there. Or has that worn off already and now it's just the aw shit I'm fucked feeling?

"...[N]obody takes you seriously."
Bravo. This is what hurts these fucking egomaniacs. I doff my hat to you.

Sorry about you getting fired, though. I wish I could help, but I'm afraid I might be a bit too far away.

I did this before but ironically the manager liked me for my honesty. Fuck if I know why but we became good friends after I told him what a douchebag he was being. Which was unlike my last manager who was a racist dipshit and so was the boss so I had nowhere to turn other than to eventually be laid off. It is worth it though don't put up with peoples shit it isn't worth it.

This guy's friends (and neighbors) with the owner. The decision to fire me immediately rather than write me up or give me a warning likely came directly from her (the owner).

I do odd-jobs on the side for cash anyways, and those are picking up by referral (it's been mostly replacing the valves in sinks and showers for people up to now, gotta vacuum and clean a 3000sqft office in a couple weeks, that's $250 ... ), so I won't have to worry about my bills, just expendible income ... I'll have money to pay my bills, but that's it.

Thanks, man. It's cool. This has been building up for a long time. Among my co-workers as well. I'm just the one that lost it with this guy first. I have a feeling other people will be telling this guy off soon.

Luckily at my work you're all allowed to swear at each other. I remember my general manager started freaking out during lunch because there was no one out at the register and I had just come back in from collecting garbage and he's like "what the fuck are you doing?! Get on the register" and I just told him off "I just touched trash you fucking moron, I'm sure they'd rather wait three seconds than get Hep A."

But good for you, hopefully the owner will get rid of that incompetent dickhead after a few more of the good ones leave.

I did something similar once many years ago, when I worked at Target. I was the cart-attendant, very very shitty job. People ***** at you first before going into the store to ***** at everyone else, and they leave their dirty diapers and whatnot in the carts half the time. Anyways...so one night im rounding up the last of the carts just before the store is ready to close. Its about 10 pm, its a hot summer night, and I just had a shitty day like every day there was. So as im pulling the line of carts up toward the door, this lady comes speeding through the parking lot and nearly hits me. Then she have the fucking nerve to tell me "you are in my way". I fucking lost it. I'm like "fuck you you almost run me over and im in your way".....so she is pissed now and goes and gets the manager. Manager and her come out, and the manager asks me if I cursed her out, Im like "damn right I did cause she almost ran me over"....the manager of course sticks up for the customer and says well you cant talk that way to our customers you're suspended. I told the manager: fuck you, fuck her, and fuck this store, I quit. Everyone around me was cracking up, and a few of them even mocked the manager and said "you got toooooooooooold".

Just another bullshit story that is a product of our lovely crapitalistic nation. So, I feel your pain.

Write down everything that was said!!!

Write down everything that may have led up to it as well.

If you had reason to believe that such language is "acceptable", and you probably did because otherwise you wouldn't have said it, you might have a case against these bums for Entrapment. Especially if any harassment was directed towards you previously.

I had a previous manager that tried to pull one over on me like this.

He was in the habit of "joking around" playfully, vulgarly and sometimes violently with the guys in the shop.
So when he came over to my work area one day and interrupted me with an over-the-top outrageous comment, I thought nothing of it and replied in like fashion.

His response was to instantly start shrieking "Insubordination" and tried to fire me on the spot.

His superiors were a bit wiser and called it off.

Nowdays, I deeply regret not pursuing this incident for everything it was worth. I should have sued them to Smithereens and back for Entrapment, Harassment, Endangerment, Abuse and anything else I might have missed.

Good Luck. If you feel you were wronged in the least or provoked or led to believe such comments were acceptable for any reason, call someone NOW.

one of my managers is a racist, but not like KKK NSM88 kill black people, he was just prone to using racial slurs and stereotypes. called him out on it and he stopped making those references. he only slipped up once and reminded him.

i think the key was i said i was 'hostile' to that kind of language. though, if he does it again, im complaining to head management or even corporate.
