damn this is hard...

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F#A# Infinity (I don't think I need to justify this one...)

Amusement Parks On Fire - Amusement Parks On Fire (honestly, mainly just because of the tracks Venus in Cancer, Smokescreen and Vensosa... but really, I listen to this album pretty much everyday)

Xasthur - Subliminal Genocide (basically, the absolute darkest shit ever written)

Dir En Grey - Uroboros (I don't know... I was really, really into this album when it came out. There is absolutely no filler on this album, which is pretty astounding for a popular band.)

Touche Amore - To The Beat Of A Dead Horse (I actually like the demo versions of their songs more than their re-recording here, but whatever...)

Very tough one for me. Because the question is, do I pick just a few albums from like 2 or 3 musicians I like the most, or do I try to represent a more well-rounded grouping? Anyways, this is what I've got. I refuse to list them in order though. It's more of a group of favorites on levels, but not any one album.

Favorites:
Lateralus, by Tool
Meddle, by Pink Floyd
Bringing It All Back Home, by Bob Dylan
Kick Out the Jams, by MC5
Bu-ikikaesu, by Maximum the Hormone

Close seconds, probably on the same level:
Aenima, by Tool
Dark Side of the Moon, by Pink Floyd
Nashville Skyline, by Bob Dylan (Honestly, it just fucking blows Highway 61 Revisited out of the water in my opinion. It is absolutely beautiful from start to finish)
Rokkinpo Goroshi, by Maximum the Hormone (I feel like it's actually tied with Bu-ikikaesu)
London Calling, by The Clash

The third tier (honorable mentions):
Self-titled, by The Stooges
Let's Get Free, by Dead Prez
Highway 61 Revisited, by Bob Dylan
Self-titled, by Rage Against the Machine
OK Computer, by Radiohead

"Salvation is a Deep Dark Well" - The Builders & The Butchers
"Superunknown" - Soundgarden
"Fantastic Planet" - Failure
"Remote Control" - The Tubes (which is funny, because I otherwise hate this band)
"As Good As Dead" - Local H

Edit: "Temple of the Dog" by Temple of the Dog gets an honorable mention, as does "After the Gold Rush" by Neil Young.
