Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet? Inspirational stuff. Apparently they broke several police lines trying to get to the student march on Wednesday. Wish they'd got to us - we tried to reach them too but the police presence was massive. Lots of chants about student-worker unity though, so that was good. I <3 the rank-and-file.

Yeah strong stuff, workers blocking roads is always a big move.
The Socialist Worker article seems pretty complementary of Len McCluskey et al but from what I heard the militancy was sapped with the official rally. Hopefully the movement will keep its rank and file control.

I was there. The police were utter pricks, as per usual.

Can't really expect them not to be pricks. It's in section 15 of the Job expectations list in their recruitment pack.

Yeah the police reaction to this seemed completely different to the student march. They didn't let us do anything and escorted us on a leash through our designated route. Looks like the Sparks had a proper demonstration. Can't wait until the 30th. :star2:

Hear hear, comrade. We found out yesterday our principle had voted for strike action, and has asked for students to support their picket line in anyway possible. So me and my mum have bought some big flasks, plenty of disposable cups and some cakes to take to them when they're on strike. I sure hope this is as big as the unions have made it out to be.
