Is is a "Red dawn" for the Tea Party? Why? Are the aliens taking over earth to raise taxes on corporations or create a national health care service?

I like Falling Skies. It seems to be well written and acted and could also fit into a leftist guerilla army narrative. True, its repetition of the Asian women trope gets tiresome, (similar to the second Stargate series) but it does have a multi-racial cast, (although with white guys in charge) but for American TV its not bad. How's that for damning with faint praise?

No Jimmie Higgins, we don't know yet what the aliens are there for. From what I have see it well be in season 2. For all I know the harness are some kind of health care system, hell they healed that on boy.

Now Lenina Rosenweg, you may be right as we communist would not have are own army when we went to war. But on the other hand the aliens don't act like a military force. They do not move in any detail groups. Some times they only sent one mech for a job with no infantry back up. So I find it hard to tell.

I only saw the pilot episode so I was wondering why you thought it was red dawn for the tea-party.

Steaming pile of toss. Every part of the show generates a sort of perpetual cringe for me. Like a lot of tv shows, started off with some promise and decided to do the bare minimum with the source material.

Edit: It's not nearly as bad as Terra Nova, though. My god.

They keep coming back to the ideal that "this is the Second American Revolution" like the tea party all the time.
