Why
Drake's lyrics are uninspiring, not that artistically complex and they address some very trivial subjects. His beats does not inspire people (or me at least) to bump my head or whatever you would be doing when hearing some touching* music.
I always compare new artists to old ones. Nas, Biggie, AZ, the Roots, 2Pac, Wu-Tang etc. are still to be bested, so why would I listen to suboptimal music? Even though it might not be as "catchy" as some botte popping lyrics, I bet you would find many Drake fans not knowing a lot about music from "back then". Once, I only listened to Kanye West and Immortal Technique. When I heard about the forementioned artists, I nearly threw Kanye's and Tech's albums in the garbage can due to the fact that I also found (and still does) his music suboptimal. I still listen to it sometimes, but I'm not the fan that I used to be.
*=Touching in this case does not mean deep lyrics or dark beats, it just means that you'll get into a certain state of mind when listening to it. Drake does not get me into a certain state of mind, therefore I do not find his music touching, and as such, I refrain from listening to it. If you find it touching, fine. I suggest listening to Illmatic, Ready To Die and other highly acclaimed hip hop albums from around 1994. They're that better, at least in my opinion, and still very relevant to this day.

And me to some extent. But, for some reason, I find that his music gets worse and worse the more I hear it. In any case I see him as a "meh" kind of rapper.
