I was going to start on this in a little while and wanted to know if anyone had read it.

If it helps, the environmental group Earth First! was founded by some fans.

HST and Wendell Berry, two of my favorite writers, both love Edward Abbey.

Everyone who cares about the environment should read this book, I beg you too.

Ok man! What are the in's and out's of it?

sweet. anyway, it involves four heroes: a vietnam vet who came back to see his country was gone, a doctor with a penchant for mischief against the ever-spreading "machine", a polygamist mormon who is seeing the destruction of God's country, and a revolutionary jewish girl from Brooklyn.

anyway, the four team up and go after the works of progress in the American southwest, taking out machinery and bridges and the like. It's not the most well-written peice of fiction, but it is pretty inspiring at times and damn funny at that.

yeah. Thanks for your time, Danton

Any book with a polygamist mormon in it is fine by me, I'm on the lookout but I must finish this Kaftka shit - it's gone on long enough, high time I rid myself of it..

I will seek out your monkey wrench gang with great curiosity indeed and report back henceforth or forthwith whichever is necessary...
