I replied by pointing out that it is you who are being dishonest, and your tactic or dishonest is basically to bluff: to make what looks like a strong statement of fact, which is in fact not true, hoping that your vehemence will convince people that it is true.

And now you've done it again. I have never suggested that "we should not defend our spaces from the state." First of all, the term "our spaces" is jargony and propagandistic. Who is the "we" you are talking about? A specific occupatin, OWS as a whole, a small group that tries to seize a building in the middle of a demo? Who?

Second of all, I have never argued that nonviolent tactics are exclusive. I am arguing that at this juncture, they should be the tactics of OWS and this should be made explicit in any diversity of tactics agreement. If the cops take it upon themselves, as they surely and inevitably will, to attack demos, sites, etc., then the question of nonviolence becomes a question to be debated and the time for its replacement with a diversity of tactics that includes violence is an issue.
