What are your experiences? Opinions? I live in Germany (West), and I was born after the fall. My mother visited the DDR in the 1980s, and her reactions were mixed, but I don't know anyone who actually is from the East and is old enough to remember things.

Most of the Stalin kiddies aren't even from there but those that are are quite devout to their gods, Lenin and Stalin

My ancestors on my mother's side left Russia after the civil war (they probably supported the whites lol)

Actually, my grandmother (mother's side) grew up in Russia before and during WWII. Her family had to leave the country when she was about 14, because they were Germans. She never really talks about it much, though, and most of what she remembers is about the war and how everything was destroyed and they had to start over with nothing in Germany.
