Lol... I would rather Rachmoninov's 42nd...

I'm not familiar with that one.

Rachmoninov's rather noisy and emotional; lot's of percussion. His body of work was similar to Beethoven in a lot of ways.

I am pleasantly surprised by your taste in music, "canikickit"!!!

I thought you would be an 'Eminem' or 'D-12' fan after watching THAT video :P

Rachmaninov was a genius; I am a fan of Piano Concerto No. 3 myself...
Or Prokofiev's 'Montagues Et Capulets'???

Of course, there's nothing quite like a bit of Hendrix either...

Lol, I suppose not...

Ok, ok... How about 'O Fortuna'? A great classical track...

When it comes to Hendrix, all of his stuff is magnificent. If I had to chosse one... 'Izabella'.

Happy now??? (Btw, didn't hear any suggestions from you!)

I too am a big fan of rachmoninov, as I always say, "If it ain't baroque, don't fix it." Rachy sure knows percussion and rhythm, his can be very intense at times. How about "The Four Seasons" by Vivaldi

or better yet, Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring"
there's nothing quite like a song about human sacrifice...

True, true. Vivaldi is excellent as well. Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries is a good one to. Same goes for The American Overature (though I can't think of who composed it off the top of my head).

[quotte]though I can't think of who composed it off the top of my head[/quote]

What did they compose it with, a pair of scissors?

The new songs of the day are all the tunes (that I have, at least) on the "Give Me Power" rhythm:

The Stingers - Give Me Power
King Iwah - Give Me Power Version 2
Lee Perry - Sunshine Showdown
The Upsetters - More Power
The Upsetters - Tipper Special
Winston Wright - Double Power

Produced by Lee Perry.

Nicer than nice.

I'll throw in Neville Grant's "Black Man's Time" and The Upsetters' "Jungle Jim" just because they have the same melody as "Pop Goes the Weasel".

while we're on the topic, i recently checked out 'smokeyroom's rhythm shower' like you said, and all I can say is: wow.

Yeah, the guy who does that site has a lot of dedication. He really knows Lee Perry's discography.

I wish I had his record collection.

Here's a suggestion for tommorow's song of the day:

Guns Are For Pussies--by 311

interesting idea for a song of the day, but why in particular would you recommend that one for song of the day? I don't want to see this thread turn into a 'what's your greatest song' one....anyway..
