I've only actually "gambled" once and it was when I was still in high school playing poker at a friends house with some people. Ten dollar buy in, I lost almost immediately, I then opened the case where the money was and took my ten dollars back. lol

I know lots of people who make a living from poker. It only counts as gambling if you're no good at it (like me). I still play sometimes, but I prefer to throw my money away on roulette.

You should play blackjack and learn how to card count, it's relatively easy and a good way to make some cash as far as gambling goes.

Card counting is fine as long as you can find a casino that doesn't use shuffling machines for blackjack, which is pretty difficult nowadays.

My dad got through school with a combination of work and gambling. It is something I've been thinking about doing since I have some talent with it.

Gambling sucks, but is also so fun. I don't play the tables and fuck around on the machines. Pretty fun games in the casinos here.

You can estimate the number of decks being used based on the stack of cards. As long as you can see how many cards are in the stack you're good. Then go from there.
It's not hard. I do it. I kind of got caught a while back but the dealer just got annoyed and quietly asked me to leave the table, she didn't report me to the pit boss or anything. I dropped out for several rounds and was obviously taking in what cards were being played (it's hard to be smooth about it when you're drunk from the free drinks they keep giving you). But in the end I made about 75$ off of a single 5$ bet at that table.
Blackjack is fun and easy to just rip apart if you really know how to play.

You're getting robbed! Stay far away from the machines, unless you're a hacker and can use the predictable cycles of the "random" number generator in a given machine to figure out when it's going to hit, like those people in the 80s.

If you want to win money, roulette is the game to go for.
Beating it is based on probability and maths, and there are very simple systems you can use to significantly improve your chances of winning.

Don't gamble, play poker but be good at it. It has the same thrill but if you're good you'll always win in the long term. I've made over 22k playing online and in the casino over the past 3 months... there are always dumb rich people who just throw money away :-P

sorry but you're wrong it's still gambling nothing is guaranteed you can of course reduce your odds while your opponent can play like shit but 7,2 can still beat bullets with the right flop. That's why it's always a gamble. I remember the first time I ever played I went all in with K,2 against A,Q and won I shouldn't have won but I did. Guy was like :cursing:
I'm definitely up overall I won $5000 from a $1 stake going through I think 3 satellites over about a week with the final session of the main tournament taking about 13 or 14 hours. I'm not arrogant enough to claim that I didn't have just a little bit of luck to make it to the final table.

Poker gets on my nerves when I play it. I probably just suck at it.
Well, I do suck at it.

It is most certainly true.
There is no system out there that makes you guaranteed to win, but there are some ways to play to significantly reduce your chances of losing out.

ok at this point I should tell you that I was a croupier for years. Please tell me one of these systems on roulette to reduce your odds. Roulette is a mathematically perfect game, we call it that because the odds are fixed. Which ever way you place your bets the house retains a 2.77 advantage. In real terms that means that for every 100 that you place your bet is only worth 97.3. This is true however you play. Look at it this way if you play any of the even chances at the same time for instance red and black or odd and even the chances are that you will receive your money back most times. Except if 0 comes and you lose half your bet the odds remain the same. If you get a number straight up then you win 35, including your bet that makes 36 now how many numbers are on a roulette wheel. The only difference in the odds comes down to which wheel you use UK wheel is the better value than the US wheel as it has one less number but pays the same odds.

Progressive betting systems overcome that problem, and before you mention the martingale system, I agree it's shit and doesn't work. What I'm talking about is much more complex.

I play slots occasionally.
My technique:
Bring a fixed amount of disposable money, say $50.
Divide the money up into either 10 $5 bills or 5 $10 bills
Play each bill separately until it's either gone or until it goes way up.
If a bill goes way up, cash out once it starts to go down.
Keep all cash outs. Don't ever play winnings money.
Play another of the original bills until they're all gone.
If just one has "gone high" you come out ahead.
I have found that the machines are programmed to get you feeling "lucky", then rob you blind.
I cash out as soon as they start the robbing cycle and walk out with more money than walking in.
