There is more at the link, but this is the gist of the strike:
Then let it them be resolved by the General Assembly of Occupy Dallas through consensus on Date (___________________) that we call upon all people to engage in a General Strike on November 30th, 2011. We implore all people to:
Refrain from Buying or Selling any goods or services including but not limited to, any petroleum products, consumer goods or bank transactions; starting at 12:01 am to 11:59pm on November 30th, 2011.
Refrain from working for a wage starting at 12:01 am to 11:59pm on November 30th, 2011 excluding those individuals that provide emergency and necessary functions including but not limited to Police, Fire and Medical personnel.
Join or form local groups to peacefully protest against the above stated elements.
Please join us in solidarity to make known our grievances and demand substantive change to insure our future.

This could be a very nice development if they can get wide ranging support for the strike.

Forgive my pessimism, but you'd think that any given city in Texas wouldn't exactly be a hotbed of worker solidarity.

Texas is, however, a hotbed of libertarian solidarity, and the libertarians for some reason are for the OWS movement (even Ron Paul has spoke in favour of it since his supporters are taking part in it)

You'd think that, but lately I notice a lot of new members to Revleft are from Texas or somewhere else in the south. Somethings going on down there.

This is also true, the WIL (American section of the IMT) has a branch office in Dallas even, I believe the ISO operates a branch there as well...

Despite its popular depiction as a backwards, reactionary state, Texas is not at all monolithic in terms of class struggle. Sure enough, most of the rural, small-town portion of Texas (which encompasses most of the state's geographical area) does tend to lean to the reactionary side. However, the big cities within Texas, as well as the areas with a minority-majority population (particularly the South/Southwest portion, which is heavily populated by Hispanics), are places sympathetic to progressive and sometimes even revolutionary politics. As such, it should not surprise anyone to hear calls for a General Strike within a city such as Dallas.

This is an encouraging development. The turn towards methods of a purely class-based character serve a purpose in pushing the OWS movement into class struggle and - hopefully - progressive/revolutionary politics. If this tactic takes off we might witness a noticeable growth in workers' militancy and resolve. Now if only we could convince people to extend their strikes beyond 24 hours...oh well, one step at a time. :)

There are radicals in Texas.
