This is pop-punk but not the kind I like or was talking about in the thread.

Currently questioning if there is such a thing as 'good' pop punk.

I am referring what some people call "ramones-core", but I think that term is more than a little douchey.

In Serbia and in my hometown pop punk is quite popular, but it's more inspired with melodic punk rock (hardcore?) scene from California than with the Ramones. Also, one of the biggest iffluences is Serbian band called Pekinška patka (Bejing's Duck). If you liked OPO and Fat Prezident I can post you more, because they all have simmilar sound.

Not a fan of pop-anything really but I guess Nofx could probably "labeled" pop-punk. All together I find labels silly and unnecessary in music. Good music is good music regardless.

Dear god, pop-punk really has lost its meaning over the years. Some good bands on here, BUT...

To the OP: how the hell is this pop-punk? The only thing I can realistically categorise this as loosely is hardcore.

I don't understand how this:

h0F3NLWdLGs

Turned into that band above and still maintained the title of "pop-punk". Is it because the singer sounds a bit like Dexter Holland or something?

The Rabble are no bad. Also, more ska punk than anything, but with a kinda pop-punk influence, Star Fucking Hipsters. Fucking excellent band.

Sadly, I'm not allowed to post links yet, but if you look up the songs This World is Dead and 9/11 Was (An Inside Joke) respectively.

Yeah, I suppose I could see where you're coming from if you're only looking at shit like Green Day or Blink 182. I'm quite leery of anything calling itself pop punk these days, but man you can't ignore its roots. Bands like The Buzzcocks, The Undertones, Screeching Weasel, The Queers, and as other have pointed out, even the Ramones can be considered pop punk. So its hard to say there's no good pop punk, just ignore that bubblegum punk or whatever the hell they call that shit today.
