I have read online that a movie, starring Benicio Del Toro, will be starring in a new film about CHE. Has anyone heard this to be true, or is this just a rumor?

[COLOR=purple] Well, it is very nice to know that a movie on Che is going to be coming out....the only movie I know where Che appeared was in Evita where he was played by Antonio Banderas
But if it is a US production, i hope it won't end up like all those Hollywood asteroid and war movies where it seems that America always saves the world..
I think they should let Woody Allen direct it, he is a genius :D

I heard about this, to. I heard somewhere (here, I think) that Steven Sodebergh is supposed to be directing it. That would be nice, since he's pretty leftist himself.
Speaking of bio-pics, A Huey P. Newton Story was excellent. It's not really a movie, more of a one man show. Robert Guenveur Smith plays Huey in something akin to the way John Leguizamo plays himself in FREAK! and Sexaholix. It was directed by Spike Lee. All and all thouroughly amazing.
Do the tighten up, and make it mellow...

What is the name of the Huey Newton film, and is it just about him or does the movie take you to Bobby Seale and The Panthers as well??

Apparently Steven Sodebergh was on board to a book based on motorcycle diaries. I think he dropped out to do Oceans Eleven 2 or some shit. He's an overrated director anyway, I'd like to seee Oliver Stone direct a movie about Che, or Cuba in general.

The name is "A Huey P. Newton Story." It's not really what you would call a movie, like I said before. It's a stage performance by Robert Guenveur Smith that was filmed by Spike Lee. It's more or less like a stream of consciousness type thing where Smith speaks from the first person as Huey. Well worth a gander. It won't be available for purchase until next year, but you can pre-order it from Amazon here (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000EMYBQ/qid%3D1068616956/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/002-7972426-3404036). It's well worth the $13 they want for it.
