There are a couple quotes that I have seen in the signatures of members that I have been trying to track down for quite some time and this is my last resort as the search function on the site and google have proven futile.

The first quote I believe was taken from a speech where, I am assuming a socialist leader, was talking about revolution and forming a new society. He said however that he would not lead the masses anywhere that they had to use their hearts and their heads or something along those lines, for if he lead them there someone could lead them out.

The second I think was taken from a book and it went along the lines of: I oppose all tyrants, politicians, kings etc.. not because they are necessarily doing a bad job but because the are tyrants.

I am kinda thinking no one will really no what I am talking about, and if that is the case it is fine, however I thought it was worth a shot as I was hoping to use one of these for a school assignment I am writing.

First one is almost definitely Eugene Debs.

Too long have the workers of the world waited for some Moses to lead them out of bondage. He has not come; he never will come. I would not lead you out if I could; for if you could be led out, you could be led back again.

Eugene V. Debs (http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Special:Search/Eugene_V._Debs)

I am not a Labor Leader; I do not want you to follow me or anyone else; if you are looking for a Moses to lead you out of this capitalist wilderness, you will stay right where you are. I would not lead you into the promised land if I could, because if I led you in, some one else would lead you out. You must use your heads as well as your hands, and get yourself out of your present condition; as it is now the capitalists use your heads and your hands.
