So ever since I got Fallout 3 I've been pretty addicted and have been thinking about buying New Vegas when I can. For those with experience, is it any good? Better than F3, worse, about as good? How big is the map compared to F3? Just give your perspective of the game

New Vegas is the shit. It definitely better than F3 improves a lot of stuff. Some people complained about its glitchyness but its no worst than Fallout 3 on console. Don't play it right after you finish 3 if you are bored with 3. That's what i did and i got bored before the end of the game, its really similar play wise.
I'm gonna get back to it eventually though. Right now though i still gotta beat Oblivion's storyline to get ready to play Skyrim!

I liked New Vegas, personally. You can find it used for like ten to fifteen bucks at a game seller. Granted, I played it on the PC, but I thought it was a great game and the storyline and quest seemed a bit more interesting and compelling than the Fallout 3 plot.

It's a very fun game. It isn't as big but it's still hell of a fun game.
Oblivion beats both though.

It's very different thematically to F3 which put me off it a little as the contrast between the classic Western and the rat-pack/Film Noir wasn't melded well with the Fallout pseudo-science in my opinion. It's certainly got more side quests than F3 and the many varieties in the main quest give it greater re-playability. If you can get it cheap then it's definitely worth it.:)

Fucking amazing game. The story is better and so is the gameplay. You can aim down iron sights and shit. The map is pretty big and seeing the strip the first time is pretty cool. Better than Fallout 3 in my opinion.

So it's like an actual full game, that's sweet. Looks like it's definitely on the top of my list of games and music to buy, thanks guys.

It's the much better game. The writing, the quests. Fallout 3 was terrible, if you were a Fallout fan at least. Oblivion did the best with the crap they were given, and made a game much closer to what Fallout used to be.

Wait for February 2012 to get the Ultimate Edition, which has all the DLC's:
Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, The Courier's Stash, and the Gun Runners Arsenal.

I have heard New Vegas's political edge is rather reactionary though.

fallout 3 and fallout new vegas are two different game if you ask me.
fallout 3 is more action oriented while new vegas is more about story and quests.
i love both.

Well you basically have the Crazy nut job empire, that nonetheless is stable (The Legion)
A sorta militaristic quasi-democracy (the NCR)
You have Mr. House.......hard to describe.
And then there is the anarchist possibility of tossing them all out........

You have Mr. House.......hard to describe.
Isolationist in the sense he has no reason or need to expand as far as New Vegas, and doesn't want to deal with any power of the wasteland. Capitalist that he simply wants those foreign powers to send their people to New Vegas, so he can make money off them in every way.

Map-wise, it is smaller than Fallout 3 and obivlion, but its just so much more packed with awesome stuff to do. Trust me you appreciate the smaller size after a while.
