No, it's not from the Onion, and this idiot is a serious Rethug candidate for US president
Another day, another gem of stupidity out of Herman Cain. Honestly, I don’t know how it is possible for even the most die-hard conservative to envision this clown as the Commander-in-Chief. I, personally, would be terrified he would try to order a pizza using the Red Phone.
This is from a PBS interview in which Cain discusses China:
And secondly, we already have superiority in terms of our military capability, and I plan to get away from making cutting our defense a priority and make investing in our military capability a priority, going back to my statement: peace through strength and clarity. So yes they’re a military threat. They’ve indicated that they’re trying to develop nuclear capability and they want to develop more aircraft carriers like we have. So yes, we have to consider them a military threat. (emphasis mine)
OK, while a person can be forgiven for not knowing, off the top of their head, that France has nuclear capability (it’s France. They’re not exactly known for belligerence), there is NO excuse for a presidential potential to be ignorant about the nuclear status of the worlds’ only other Superpower. China has had nukes since 1964.
Yes, this is the level of intelligence of a good number of the citizens in the country I live in.
