How's it going. I'm moving up there pretty soon myself. As far as reading material goes, it really depends on what you're looking for. You're about as likely to find one good, objective overview that fairly examines every tendency as you are to look out your window and see a palm tree. I'm not particularly aligned with any tendency myself, so I don't really have it in me to try to jam a bunch of Lenin or Kropotkin down your throat, though I can certainly provide some good links if you specify what you're looking for a bit more.

Here's some basic short introductions to Marxism

Wage Labour and Capital (http://marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/wage-labour/index.htm)
Socialism: Utopian & Scientific (http://marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1880/soc-utop/index.htm)

I doubt anyone will contest these. There is a general consensus that Marx and Engels' critique of capitalism is foundational for most tendencies. Maybe some of the more ideological anarchists would oppose but if so, then they can post what they want.

If you are feeling gutsy then give Capital (http://marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1867-c1/) a crack. Most communists have never actually read it and achieved great things.

i think i would be interested in the ideologies i don't have a basic understanding for first them expanding on all of them.
so maybe readings on something outside of "basic" communism, anarchism actually anything past that really haha.
