@psycho, I didn't mean "martyr" as sarcastic; the sentence as a whole was sarcastic. It's mocking how so many in Israel and in America claim to know what the poor souls would want to be done in their names. They have crocodile tears aplenty.

I'm sure all of you also caught the obviously ironic nature of the whole "remember victims of genocide by exterminating another race." As well as the refusal to say "Palestine." That's what it all boils down to. It's not hatred towards another ethnicity. It's an incidental hatred, but deep hatred nonetheless. The dream of imperialist expansion cannot go on while the Palestinians exist.

It's much like the way that the first peoples of North America were referred to in English as savages. Not in anger all the time, simply "savages" as a matter of fact. Educated writers didn't feel it was necessary to say Iroquois, Algonquin, or Huron or Cree. 1600-1800 American literature is filled with this. Even when speaking well of an individual, the label "savage remained. Anything else would acknowledge a unique culture, a unique history, a unique language, a unique people.

It's no different with the Palestinians. Pro-Israeli literature never refers to Palestinians as such. They are generic "Arabs" who have no connection with the land of Israel, and they are no different than an invading Arab army from Egypt or whereever else. Think about the number of times you've heard the conflict described as "Arab-Israeli" or "Jewish-Muslim." As matter of fact, the treatment of Palestinians as direction-less Arabs in Israel reminds me of the stereotype of the Wandering Jew.

I wanted to highlight the absurdity of the refrain that Israel is constantly demanding "negotiations." If a Palestinian misbehaves, it's wrong because s/he should be doing something constructive, like negotiating. If Israel's hand is forced, and it launches a military operation or embezzles funds, it's because Israel had to, and Israel had to because the Palestinians wouldn't negotiate.

I am also angered by the hypocrisy of those who act like the Holocaust is the only tragedy ever. America's war on the Middle East from North Africa to Aghanistan has directly and indirectly killed millions. I don't want to crunch numbers over whose genocide was worse. Just food for thought.

The greatest tragedy of the aftermath of the Holocaust is this: the memory of martyrs is used to eradicate a culture, and nothing has been done to prevent another Holocaust. While Nazis are out of power, their ideas have lived on Europe and were never properly dealt with (rather just gagged and driven underground) and the ideologies of militarism, nationalism, and imperialism are embraced by those leading Israel and the USA. I like to shine a light on absurdity, irony, hypocrisy and deja vu.

Linguistically, I can vouch for R_P_A_S. It's very easy for someone to think of the term "***** slap" and not think of the word "*****." How many people connect "raspberry" with "rasp"?. It was coined once then forgotten. I just think of the numerous Koreans who know the definitions of the English word "sex" but know the word "sexy" from pop culture. They thus often fail to realize that the two words are related and this has resulted in more than one instance of a teenage (male) student asking me if I thought "he was sexy."

One more bit about my mis-interpreted post. As part and parcel of the West's hatred for socialism, the role of people who happen to be Jewish in the struggle for liberation is often forgotten. So while on one hand we had people raving about Jewish Bolsheviks the more likely event is now people saying that Marxism and Communism have been anti-Semitic. It was a point that Palestinians and leftists will be ignored or branded anti-Semitic while Israel goes on about persecution while it slowly strangles to death the Palestinian nation-state. A lot of people complained about it and accused you of using "prejudiced language" - somehow they were offended by it. Don't take it personally. I myself do not think it was offensive. Plus, I'm Australian. I don't give a crap about swearing. Even our politicians do it and it's socially acceptable. As a matter of policy I don't agree with certain words being "banned" here - but they are still violations according to the rules and if people complain about them something has to be done.

Fair enough.. this are the forums rules... However I feel sorry for those of you who complaint because is CLEAR that you live in a bubble. Look at my fucking post history... I admitted to using such language in the past.. however the last couple years I believe I've been respectful and considerate. What do you guys do when you are walking down the street and you hear a couple of guys say things like.. "Damn you are acting like a *****!" Do you call the cops?
