Hey. I stumbled upon this forum after searching on Google "criticism of Ayn Rand." I believe she's nothing more than the icon of the philosophy of complete selfishness and disregard for other people. But hey, that's just me. I've not read much of her literature (mostly because I'm deterred by what I /have/ read about her)
Anyway, this isn't about Ayn Rand. I decided to join this forum after skimming a bit through the different sections, threads, and topics. I have no idea what I would label myself politically/economically. I'm by no means extremely educated in political/economic systems, history, etc...but I do want to learn.
This much I do know: I'm discontent with how things operate in the United States (I live here), I'm appalled by much of our foreign policy, I'm disgusted with how people in this country can't even have basic healthcare or that millions upon millions are below the poverty level. That's just to name a few things, but yeah. Here I am! Hello, and I hope to post more on this forum. I'll definitely be reading, but hopefully I can think of something to contribute/ask. :)
