Bill Gates is actually a really cool guy. If capitalism was run by people like Bill Gates I wouldn't nearly be as socialist as I am now. Hell, I might not even be one.

Actually, having no relation to the means of production, I have no class -- and I am sure of this (so I can't answer with "I'm not really sure"). It's pretty simple and I don't see why there isn't an option for that.

Except for getting a degree on the GI Bill, I worked my whole adult life and then retired, so I am a prole (and proud of it).
The late Peter Camejo, a leader of the (US) SWP/YSA, until he was inexplicably expelled, explained how you could know if you're bourgeois. As I remember (and it's been decades since): Stay inside for a month, and if you get checks in the mail, so you don't have to work, then you are indeed bourgeois. (Or you might be a student with generous parents.)

Being against capitalism has never been about the individual capitalists but about the institutional capacity of the capitalist class. And that is necessarily to oppress.

And why exactly isn't lumpen an option?
Cause I think it's a largely bullshit and arrogant classification. The only people I can think of that may qualify as lumpens are professional thieves and scammers, and if anyone on here is either of those two then they can fuck off.
Prostitutes = proletariat (or maybe petit-bourgeois in rare cases)
Beggars/homeless people = proletariat
Small time drug dealers = petit-bourgeois
Drug lords and pimps = bourgeois

One of my best friends embraced the anarchist theories after being in and out of jail for the last several years. His older sister gave him an Emma Goldman collection, among other writings when he got out the last time ...
Like I said before, all in this same neighborhood. Most petit-bourgeois folks I meet are right-wing libertarians ...

Unsure I guess. My dad has owned his own business and was very successful, my mom comes from a working class family but she was lucky to land a job as an escrow officer and ultimately become lower middle class. Me and my brother are the first on my mom's side to go to college as far as I know, though my dads side I am not.

As Prole as Prole can be.
Got the absolutely demolished nails and skin to prove it.
As well as the better strength, endurance, quick reflex and sharp wit that goes with it.
Working life is hard. Really hard and mostly thankless. Too cold, too hot, too damp and waaaay too dirty too.
But it could be worse.... I could be and was raised to be just another brainless wannabe-Bourgie scum slithering up the Rat-Race ladder....
Am very glad that I didn't go to the bad like that.... ;)
