So this is my question for all comrades Communist, socialist, or anarchist... If some of us believe in freedom of speech...

Does this include the fascist capitalists we want to get rid of? Just curious... I mean don't get me wrong... I hate capitalism with a passion and I want to defeat the fascists too...

But I don't want to do it with violence or committing human rights atrocities.

Is this the wrong approach to take? Should we be out in the streets bashing bank executives' heads in?

I'm just confused please don't ban me for asking a dumb question... :(

I think it's INCREDIBLY telling the state of revleft when a new member feels the need to say this.

"I'm just confused please don't ban me for asking a dumb question... :("

If you really feel uncomfortable here OP, I'm shooting you a PM, but I'll answer your question here.

First of all, we should realise that our revolution is a SOCIAL revolution, not a violent one. Our revolution seeks to transform the SOCIAL relationships in society, and destroy others. You cannot blow up a social relationship as they say.

The violence happens when the ruling class acts against our revolution, and if we do not defend ourselves we will always be destroyed.

I'll contrast our social revolution with the capitalist violent revolution.

Capitalist social relationships already existed before Capitalism was the dominant mode of production, so no social revolution was necessary, instead, what was needed was to violently put those social relationships at the front and dominating role in society.

Absolutely, if you don't believe in free speech for those you despise, you don't believe in free speech. See the following thread.

First of all don't worry about asking stupid questions, we all have more to learn. Feel free to give me a PM anytime, if you want to ask anything. Secondly as to your question, I despise violence, and I think a revolution should be as peaceful as possible, however there will always be forces that will fight you. Here is my view, say we have a revolution and we begin building socialism, any former bourgeois will want to become workers should be able to with no punishment. They might need to be watched closely to make sure they aren't secretly trying to overturn the revolution, but if they are sincere they should be treated the same as everyone else.

We'll also keep in mind that "free speech" is a liberal idealist concept that arose around the same time as Capitalism did.

We'll also keep in mind that we're interested in the emancipation of the working class, not any such silly moral principles.

What you call silly moral principles are wery important to me. Freedom in general is wery important to me.

I oppose all state or government sponsored attacks on the freedom of speech of anyone. But I fully support anti-fa attacks on fascists. I fully support workers refusing to air or print ads or stories that support a right wing position. So fuck government. But yes for workers saying no to right wing bullshit.

They've had enough time to dominate "freedom of speech", it'll be a just retribution.
