They are Google ads. Google picks the ads based on key words that come up. Since most leftist groups probably aren't advertising with Google and since most use of the terms "socialist" or "tea party" would normally occur on tea party friendly websites, Google puts those ads on here. Don't pay attention to them or use AdBlock Plus to remove them. WIthout the ads, though, the website wouldn't be able to survive or you would have to pay for it.

I have a visceral hatred towards bank advertisements, and every time I see one, I am tempted to re-enable AdBlock on this site. The worse moments when I occasionally watch television (usually to watch baseball games) are listening to an advertisement from a financial institution (Citi and Chase). If I hear it and if I am not close to my laptop where I could just play some music, I just keep repeating the word "fuck" to myself out loud in an attempt to drown it out.

I think that we have to make a sticky of this. The ads don't reflect the politics of this site. In fact we probably use the word capitalism more than tea-partiers so google assumes that were capitalists. And that's about it.

Donations? I'm part of another Forum that run's soley on them... we had some guy give us $500 which will take care of our hosting fee's for 7 years. Not everybody is that generous I suppose. Curse of us proles is, we tend to be poor as fuck...:crying:
