Hey yall so im trying to condition my back and core for my new job and i have a lot to make up for. I looked up some exercises and a website with some exercises popped up
http://www.backstrengtheningexercises.org/

If anyone knew any more with instructions or maybe even a video too would be great.

also, would Yoga be something to look into?

Also, since can get a discount on it at my current place of work, i am planning on getting an inversion table.

Be careful with back excercises, these are rather dangerous if not done properly and can result in serious injuries.

Be EXTREMELY careful with your back. I sprained mine squatting in hs and it put me out of the gym for 3 weeks, i could barely move. To this day my adrenaline still goes haywire if i squat heavy becaus in the back of my mind i always picture being crushed by the weight again. I recommend getting a weight belt, i use te old school leather ones since i don't really like those new flexible ones. I would recommend deadlifting, one of the best back exercises around imo.

Yoga sounds lovely. It won't strengthen you're back though.

Dunno what that is.

Leather belts *are* flexible. More importantly, they provide minimal support and make you look like a wanker.

I use one of these. Exclusively. The only type of belt worth wearing in my opinion.

Also, the obvious answer is: squats and deadlifts.

Peformed with proper form, la la la and all that fuckery.

Finally, your back is very fucking important to basic mobility and quality of life. But really, princesses, it's not like it's some weak structure that's ultra-susceptible to damage. In fact, we've evolved spines capable of supporting large loads so we aren't all permanently crippled by trying to perform basic tasks. A strong back is very important for a healthy, able bodied individual. Like all excercise, you should take care. But lets not get this confused with the idea that the human spine is some easily damaged structure that needs to be shielded from use lest it break.

I would avoid exercises that involve rotation or hyper extending your back in the wrong way. The deadlift is probably the best overall excercise that you can do with weights.

I use a harbinger leather one, i'll try to find a link for it. It is not flexible, and very sturdy. I think i might have worded it wrong, but i know what you're talking about nic.
