Everyone knows Slavoj Zizek
Everyone has an opinion on Slavoj Zizek
It's funny how you compare him to Che Guevara, seeing as he's never fought in a revolution and probably never will.

I have The Parallax View by him, but haven't started it yet.

Zizek is funny to listen and read, but after a while you realise how anoying Stalinist prick he is.

Stalinist in what way? He amusingly calls Stalin a massive pervert in In Defence of Lost Causes.

He's a Marxist-Leninist. That obvieus to anyone. He defended Stalin publicaly many times. Even trought, he's more of a obsessed with Lenin. For example everyone knows his statemant regarding Lenin, 1917 and a train.

But he makes good analysies. For example he kicked Amin's ass on Subversive film festival in Zagreb calling him a liberal :D They were discussing "Arab spring".

I think he's more obsessed with Lenin's idealism but I'm not that much of an expert on Zizek.

For example everyone knows his statemant regarding Lenin, 1917 and a train.I don't know it. Could you repeat it for me?

I know quote in Croatian so here's raw translation. On a question of where should revolutionary movement in the World find inspiration he replayed that we should returnt to that moment when Lenin was in a train traveling trough Germany in order to reach Russia... Negri replayed that we should return to original Marx and fuck off Lenin and Stalin :D

Zizek isn't a Stalinist, in fact he's a left-com I'm pretty sure.

Trying to guess at Zizek's exact political alignment is pointless, he's the Andy Kaufman of Marxism, I think he amuses himself confusing people as to what exactly he believes. I think that's pretty obvious when you have one person calling him stalinist scum and the next guy claiming he's a left-com! He's an interesting guy with a lot of good things to say, some shit (which is to be expected when someone is as prolific a writer as Zizek), and some things that are just bizarre. What I like is that Zizek doesn't pigeonhole himself into some little outdated political niche, although that seems to bug the shit out of some people here.

You can't be a leftcom and support national liberation :D he did :)

He is funny guy, that's for shure. I was on at least 5 of his lectures.

Zizek is a Leninist in the pre-Stalin sense. He is certainly no Stalinist.

Just watch the documentary Zizek!...

But really, anybody who is influenced by Lacan is writing/speaking nonsense (and not even the nonsense Rosa described).

Zizek is an outstanding theoretician because he is the only living leftist I know of who learned the lessons of Zeno’s very famous paradoxes: the only movement is a theoretical one.
