Why is there always a Brit in every movie?

How does there always manage to be a Brit every American Hollywood movie? The movie could be set in Podunk, Iowa there would be a Brit working as the manager of a department store or something.

They have the best agents in Hollywood. They also always manage to work in high positions in the CIA too. Makes no sense.

How can you put a black man into movie about Nordic mithology to act as Nordic mithological creature/god? I know that he's a token (as South Park pointed out!), but still it makes no sense. By 'token' black dudes I assume you are referring to Idris Elba and Samuel L. Mother-Fucking Jackson, two of the most bad ass actors out there. Also, the movie isn't about mythology it's about the Thor comics Marvel puts out. I'm also fairly sure they aren't gods in the comic, rather just aliens or something.

In movie they are gods. So they should all be Swedish types. I know that this sounds strange, but I'm not advocating racism (nor Aryan race :D). I'm just saying that if you make movie about Nordic mythology all gods should look like Nordic people. It's like making a movie about Bob Marley and give a cast to Orlando Bloom.

Anyhow, I hate how Nordic mythology is comecialized. When I was little kid I used to know all their stories by hearth.

An upper middle class or aristocratic English accent is very classy and helps sell stuff. Especially to ingnoramus American midwesterners who identify it with everything they imagine the British to be.

I happen to like upper class English accents and hope to come back in the next life as an English queen. If I do, I'll always dress up and wear high heels, sing in cabarets and impersonate Judy Garland.

Same reason why they casted Jackie Chan for Karate Kid when karate comes from Japan. Hollywood is filled with idiots, probably something in the water or air, rather. As for the Brits, they are bland like their food and blend in anywhere; that's why.

Because being English means you're more sophisticated and evil than the average American?

I think a lot of this has to do with the American myth of the good rebels fighting against the evil empire with having the English as the historical bogeymen.
