Hi, I am Matthias, and i live in the West Midlands in the U.K. I became a leftist after a mock electoral vote in my school, in which I unfortunately voted for the Conservatives. After a few weeks, I realised it was all B.S. (for want of a better word)and I began to look into socialism. Then, one day, I bought Marx and Engels' Communist Manifesto... to cut a long story short, I'm now probably now a anarchist-socialist.

I don't know any other leftists, except my mum (but she's more a weak Labour Party supporter; my dad doesn't have any affiliations), so any ideas on left groups in W. Midlands and Warwickshire would be hepful...

Aside from politics, i am interested in art and manga (my favourite artists are Mustashrik and Dan Mumford), Rugby union(i play for school and support London Irish), Football/soccer (Arsenal!:crying:) and music. My favourite bands are Gallows, Cerebral Ballsy, Enter Shikari, Arcade Fire and OFWGKTA (i hate most pop music apart from Katy Perry :)). I am religious, but I'm fine with atheists as long as they don't have a go :)). [/FONT]

Welcome. On your journey of political education, may i recommend "Socialism: Utopian & Scientific" by Engels?

Welcome, we don't have many religious people here but as a warning, be prepared to question your beliefs as there is some very anti-theist banter here.

Welcome!

As Nox mentioned, religious/spiritual comrades are the minority here (myself included). One of the rules here is no preaching - so bear that in mind. Doing so will probably land you in OI (Opposing Ideologies). I've found it better to just not argue about it - I could personally care less about a person's religious or spiritual beliefs (or lack thereof), so long as they don't attempt to force them on people. Just a head's up. In any event, welcome, and have a look around. Hopefully you'll learn more about where you stand, but don't rush into any one particular camp - it is a process after all. :)

As Le Socialiste it is best just to avoid the Religion at all as it really doesn't matter anyways. I mean if I spent too much time in the religious section I would just froth at the mouth. Hope you enjoy your stay.:D
