This is a carry over from a rapidly derailing thread.
Do you think people of both genders should dress the way they want, or should strict guidelines be imposed?
It saddens me when people dress "anyway" they want, leading to a slew of ugly, disgusting "fashion".
Plus, Girls specifically seem to act more and more like prostitutes. They say our society is too liberal, but just imagine how an even more "Liberal" Socialist society would view fashion and mannerisms.

So are you completely serious about this shit? Fashion police, calling girls whores based on clothing? What's next, a passage from the Bible and a paragraph on moral decay?

And I'm not a fashion police officer either.
Fuck you, misogynist. if you listened to what I have to actually say, then maybe we wouldn't be name calling.
Please, lets be civil here. I'm sorry, OK?
let me reprint an earlier statement from myself:
I'm not a racist. Some of my best friends and even my girlfriend are minorities.
see? I did not meant to sound bad by suing the "S-word." I was just using the word(why did I use it) to explain what I thought about a certain manner of dress.
How am I a misogynist by pointing out a moral crisis.

People should dress how they want. Why should I as a person give shit about what someone wears? I have my own problems to worry about.

Where are girls dressing up like Prostitutes? Seriously I want to know where this school is and why I was never enrolled there. On a more serious note why do you care what people wear? Just because I wouldn't wear what some people do doesn't mean I have any right to make a statement about their choice of clothing.

Although I do agree that people should wear what they want, It just, IDK, bothers me that people wear too revealing clothes.
Look, concerning my earlier posts, I did not mean to offend anyone. I wasn't thinking straight. I have this wonderful friend who is a minority. They are funny, kind, and I love to hang out with them.
I wasn't trying to sound a certain way. many of you were quick to insult me and tell me to go f myself.

I just dug myself deeper by starting this stupid thread.
Anyways, I must stress again that I really don't care WHAT people wear. It just bothers me that people are more inclined to dress "adult" all of a sudden. Again, I don't hate women, I'm not racist.
In fact, and again, I have many good and close friends who are minorities/girls. I like them for who they are, alright?(I'm serious.)

Calm down, it should not bother you what other people wear. Let them worry about themselves, you worry about yourself. I see people everyday and I say to myself "Oh I would never dress like that." however, I would never tell the person that that it is wrong, or immoral, etc etc. You cannot let things like that be a way of judging people before you meet them. This may be because you are still in highschool and I remember myself in high school thinking: "wow what are they wearing, that person must be weird." However I grew out of it by my senior year and didn't really give a shit anymore.

To be honest, they don't really sound like a bigot, as far as racism goes. They actually sounded like they were trying quite hard to avoid such an impression while still dictating an apparent fact, and if it were the case that black people commit crime disproportionately people here would probably be more concerned with connecting this to their social and economic positions than to say that simply stating such an observation is necessarily bigoted.

Seriously though, you have some different morals and whatnot and that is fine, what you should do is just not try to enforce them on others. Think what you want, but don't try and force others to believe what you believe. After all morality is subjective.

Also, I like to think of it like this:
What if it was the other way around and people tried to make a rule against girls like me who dress relatively masculine? I'd be fucking pissed. So the bottom line is you can't make rules about what people wear.

I'm with tfb on this one. RedMarxist, as I understood it, comes from a socially conservative family, is young and has apologized for his behavior.
In short, I believe his reactionary views stem from his ignorance and confusion rather than active support for reactionary politics. I think that two infractions is punishment enough - provided he does not repeat the offense.
Just my opinion.

a little things about me:
I do come from a socially conservative, Christian background. My mother kind of told me clothes like that are bad for girls to wear. I was trying to express myself by using that word on this forum but it backfired.
Hence why I've shunned Christianity(and caused much grief for my parents), turned towards Marxism-Leninism, etc.
But old reactionary views for some reason...I can't shake 'em.

My question is like this:
In a socialist society, would anything be done about "formal" dress codes? You know, sometimes unavoidable events that pretty much force men to wear suits/ties, force women to wear dresses/heels.
I know there was a silly thread in Chit Chat recently about neckties during the revolution, but, seriously. People shouldn't be forced to dress like this. Personally I try to avoid being made to wear a dress because it's uncomfortably feminine, but sometimes it's unavoidable. O.o Basically forces gender roles on people at the risk of being socially unaccepted. >.>

OP, you've mentioned morals a few times. I have to ask, whose morals? Your own? What makes your morals any better than mine or the girls who decided to wear the clothes you don't like? Does it harm you in anyway if a woman decides to dress in a way that is revealing? I say let people dress however they want.
Also, while the OP may not have meant it this way, his post reminds me of people saying if woman don't want to get raped they shouldn't dress a certain way. Granted maybe the only reason I'm thinking of it was because my town recently held the slutwalk, so the "blame the victim" argument has been in my head lately.

This.
Just don't act on it, keep going meet new people, speak with some of these girls if you wish(not about their clothing though). Then you may(I hope) eventually realise there is no problem with them at all.
Also you are not forced to like their clothes by anyone as long as you respect them.

A lot of it is about like, you have to be really not concerned with how you appear to people if you wear girls clothing. That kinda scares me, to have someone who honestly doesn't give a shit what people think, who is so wanting to wear girls clothes that he would honestly face social ochestriation to do that.
I think its a mix of both ideas, in people finding dudes who wear girls clothes "wierd." Like you said, most people in theory find it acceptable. Its too simplistic and unlikely to argue that everyone in our culture suffers from an extreme form of covert sexism where they think they're pro equality but actually aren't.

Actually among right-wingers, many people probably wouldn't find it acceptable in theory at all either. I'm just talking about the progressive crowd. Another factor is that explicit support and implicit support are two different things. It's like everyone today says they are totally against racism, but in reality implicit racism still abounds in many ways.
I think it is people who give cross-dressers a hard time and ostracisation that should be criticised, rather than people who cross-dress. Another thing is that for many people it's not just "cross-dressing", because for them (and for me) they are really a girl so technically they are actually wearing clothes of their own gender. There is a difference between people who just cross-dress and people who are actually transgendered.

We recently organised a meeting in Finland together with the finnish CP (stalinists). Most of them were older people and the men wore suits, with small metal red stars on the jacket breast. I found it kind of cool/cute/funny.
