I've been slowly emerging from a thoroughly anarchist mindset. I've gotten to the point where I'm willing to start thinking about political parties again and feel I should have a much better understanding of what's gone on in Latin America over the past decade or more, beyond what I read in anarchist mags on the horrors of Chavez. What works have you found useful on the subject? I'm interested in stuff that cover the entire continent, but case studies by country would be of interest too. I'm open to books or articles. Also, if you know of any translated writings that are representative of different ideological currents, that would be helpful too. Or websites. Really, I'm just broadly curious.

My father just commented about a book on the subject a while ago but I can't remember the title or the author, I'll see if he remembers.
If you don't mind informal sources you can also PM me with some questions. I am no specialist but I live here and try to keep myself informed and engage with the left.
