Well don't be modest, if you can spare time, flesh to bone...how, why did you give up? My younger bro...56yrs...just died...then brought back..from a heart attack. A smoker...like me ! Pressure job....single parent..he has not smoked for a month. After smoking since 15yrs and fags so cheap here...even with Bro...I can't seem to make a break. Perhaps I need a 5yr plan? I enjoy smoking! oh well the old man lived to 76yrs...heavy drinker too...anyhow good luck to yer, hope you carry on LUPUS.......

Congratulations on your success, Canis Lupus! Smoking killed my uncle in the 1960's, and then it killed my father in 1982, when he had lived scarcely six decades. If prices for cigarettes where you live are anything like they are here, I am sure your sound decision will save you a lot of money and probably improve your general health. May you live to see your children's children (to quote an ancient text).
Best of luck!

Congrats dude! Still fighting with em myself. Hope to be smoke free by December. Trying to smoke less and less. Used to smoke a pack a day, now I'm down to 8 a day.

I just stopped cold turkey. Well, I got my wisdom teeth out Wednesday morning. They told me not to smoke the rest of the day. I said FUCK IT. I was smoking about a pack a day. Sorry about your younger brother ... My family seems to be quite susceptible to cancer. Both of my dad's brothers have died from cancer (one from lung from smoking). My grandpa died of cancer, too. Plus I was beginning to fall out of physical shape ... and smoking is a detriment to running.

It's gonna be hard, dude, but just go cold turkey and throw all of your cigarettes away. This is actually the second time I've quit smoking. Withdrawals go away after 2-3 days ... like Rob Schneider says, you can do it!

Smoking's killed at least one member of my family (uncle) ... and a lot of other people I know and who are in my family smoke ... Sorry about your losses.
They're around $5/pack ... so about $150 per month. Shit, I could use an extra $150...

I recently stopped as well (a few months ago), but I just substituted cigarettes with an electric cigarette. My supply of nicotine is about to run out and I'm not going to refill it. Now the fun begins...

Congrats. I tried to quit when I had my wisdom teeth out but I just couldn't do it. I quit awhile after though, about two months ago now. I did it cold turkey as well, I found I always failed whenever I tried to "cutback" lol.
I recommend you continue counting the days, it helps motivate you.

I've always been fairly active. I used to skateboard every day and lift weights in my teenage years. Last few years I've moved to treadmill running and occasionally lifting free weights. Although since I started smoking more (around age 18 ... on and off since I was 14-15 ... I'm 22 now) my physical activity level went down.
Obs: I like smoking. I just don't want the negative health effects. Cigarette breaks are kind of like a meditation moment. A moment of peace, away from the world. Plus it's a good excuse to strike up conversation with other people ... "Smoke a cigarette?"

No, I fucking loved smoking. I quit because it was too expensive though.
