I just saw this article:
http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-10-20/books/30288980_1_nazi-leader-berlin-bunker-adolf-hitler

It seems far fetched, but apparently the author says he has evidence.

A new book has claimed that Nazi leader Adolf Hitler did not kill himself in Berlin (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Berlin) in 1945 but ended his days in Argentina.
British journalist Gerrard Williams said he and co-author Simon Dunstan found an 'overwhelming amount of evidence' to suggest Hitler died an old man in South America (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/South-America).

Many historians say the Nazi leader died in his Berlin bunker in 1945 - but Williams claims their research, looking at newly de-classified documents and forensic tests, challenges this.
"We didn't want to re-write history, but the evidence we've discovered about the escape of Adolf Hitler is just too overwhelming to ignore," Williams told Sky news.
"There is no forensic evidence for his, or Eva Braun's deaths, and the stories from the eyewitnesses to their continued survival in Argentina are compelling," he claimed.
The book titled 'Grey Wolf: The Escape Of Adolf Hitler' claims the Fuhrer and his mistress Eva Braun (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Eva-Braun) were secretly flown out of Germany in April 1945 and taken to fascist-controlled Argentina.
It is alleged Hitler lived in the country for 17 years, initially raising his two daughters, until his death in 1962.
The book also accuses US intelligence of being complicit in the scam in return for access to Nazi war technology.
" Stalin (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Joseph-Stalin), Eisenhower (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Dwight-D.-Eisenhower) and Hoover of the FBI (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Federal-Bureau-of-Investigation) all knew there was no proof of him dying in the bunker," Williams told the paper.
He added that the book's new findings prove the 'Hitler' skull fragments held by the Russians are actually that of a young woman.

This seems ridiculous, considering the much more compelling eye-witness testimony that Hitler committed suicide in his bunker.

Although the skull story is true:

@Susurrus
Exactly. The writer of this book says two look-a-likes of Hitler and Braun took their place, which is preposterous of course. Plus, they also made a movie about this so it seems purely $$$-motivated.

Ya.. and more than just a movie.. this has been out in several different forms. Even the "HISTORY" channel had this.

America seeked Hitlers permission to take Germany's professors and technology when the Allies were beating Germany back on all fronts? Sounds likely

I wonder where his supposed 'daughters' are to testify to this...?

And what basis do they have for the claim that Hitler had two daughters? That's oddly specific.

Although this theory isn't as bad as the idea that Hitler and his Nazis escaped to Antarctica, or even more silly, the Moon (There is now a dumb movie called Iron Sky about this idea).

It wasn't South America! Shocking new evidence:

In the old days, hitler was "alive and living in Argentina," but at last-at the age of 120 or so-he's "living in Argentina but dead." That's life, as Ned Kelly said. On the bright side, you still have Elvis Presley sightings and Jack Kennedy is spotted now and then. And then there's Dracula: Transylvania is surely as good a place as Argentina for the dead to live
I miss Nessie, who seems to have died when the grocery story tabloids went under.

I also heard somewhere that Stalin was obsessed with the idea that Hitler had not died and had people trying to track him down. But it is true that this was one the history channel, which means its probably false.

^This. He also wasn't the only one to commit suicide in the bunker almost everyone did except for the few who attempted to break out of Berlin to surrender to the Western Allies. I doubt he would have fled without the Goebbels family.

I read that it was mostly because it was ran by Perón and the leadership at the time wanted to have the help of the nazis. There was (and still is) also a large German community living largely independently in Argentina.

Also a long line of Military Cooperation and training by Germany. Argentina and Germany had quite excellent relations even through WWII and there were attempts to get Argentina to invade Brazil and waste further resources of the Allies.

Indeed, the governement accepted mainly scientists and officers to boost the military and energy production mostly. (Nuclear energy included)
Quite a good number hid in southern Brasil as well, but they weren't hired by the government I think.(not that it matters, letting them come in was bad enough)

Seems fairly ridiculous, Mossad agents where sent to numerous countries in South America following the war and took out and kidnapped Nazis to bring them to justice so why would they not hunt down any leads of the big chief if he were alive and there? Not to mention I believe I remember hearing that the Soviets had his remains in one of the vaults or something. More importantly, the authors aren't fooling anyone, nothing gets past Mighty Joe Shtalin.

The KGB had a large supplies of skulls to pick from. If there was a shortage, a new supply could be easily created. A blunder like this is not likely. Though the skull could be Eva's.

I'm pretty damn sure that there was even the slightest chance of Hitler escaping, Mossad and the Nazi hunters would have dedicated their lives to hunting the bastard down.
