Look, this is Che Lives. We must have some disagreement or it is no fun.

My voice is quite deep so for me it is:
Em7 Am7 B7
and for the chorus:
Em D7 C7 B7

Playing it this way means that you can do the characteristic bass figure.

On the chorus if you play the D7 by shifting the C7 shape up a couple of frets then you can get that country and western feel bass line to give the whole thing some coherence.

This is the way that I've seen it played by Cuban musicians, although some used a capo to change the key.

I'm sure the man himself would have prefered my interpretation to any bourgeois revisionist versions sung by tourists or the deterministic structuralist version that Redstar would argue for if he could play guitar. (You can't, can you Redstar? No, please.)
