Im new to socialism and communism, but Im beginning to lean toward Marxist ideas . But anyway, my question is, with the elimination of private industry and property , what becomes of the leisure industries such as entertainment, tobacco , anything that isn't a basic need ect? Should those industries be public as well, home produced, or still somewhat privatized, or what?

I don't get this question exactly because I don't see how they would be organised differently than any other industry. They would be socialised like every other industry. Maybe you can elaborate on why you think these industries would function differently.

The fact they are not basic needs, does not mean there's no need for them...
Tobbaco, for example, is in some countries run as a quite successful state enterprise. Tv the same.

Can I suggest that this may imply that you're some kind of Marxist? Not that I know what you mean by 'transition' exactly...
Anyway: there is no difference between the industries you call 'leisure industries' and what you call 'basic needs;' if people wish to dedicate time to those industries, then they will. People will probably be sensible enough to ensure that they've fed themselves before they start manufacturing a load of water pistols, though...

Yes, I am fond of Marx, so I geuss that would be a better description honestly. I should have worded that better as well.
