How do we feel?
I hope they come to Australia, but sure as hell hope they don't release a 3rd album.

Well I can only tell you how I feel. Here's what I said a couple of days ago when the rumours were going around:
I don't think it's good at all if that is the case. Ian's voice sadly is shocking these days, though excellent on records still. As for the thing in general, playing their old songs is gonna be pretty naff and I doubt they can do anything with new ones given what I've said about Ian - plus how rusty are the others apart from Mani? I will stick to the old Roses records myself, though obviously will be interested nonetheless if anything that happens out of pure curiosity.
Someone in the know replied:
They've been rehearsing all summer, Ian's voice has always been an issue but it was never about him singing like Sam Cooke in the first place. the passing of time won't mean fuck all to Mani & Reni, Squire will be a little rusty but has time before early spring gigs to get his shit together. It's all really reliant on the "already recorded material" being as good as their very best tunes to peak interest in the meantime. I'll let you know after the gig if they break my heart.
Then I reiterated:
Yeah I agree about Ian, in fact I always liked his attitude in the way he sang and how he sounded like the street or the terraces. I also think his voice perfectly fitted the darker side of Second Coming, some people don't get it but I think it was supposed to be like that. Anyway, good luck to them and to you I'm obviously not against them in anyway, I'm not that small minded. However, part of me still thinks it's just more rumours, 'stone cold rumours' after reading Mani!
After watching the press conference, which got me a little excited as a big fan of the band and Ian's solo stuff it all sounds very interesting but I still hold my initial concerns! The line about Hitler from Ian was funny as fuck, he's a comedy genius - yet most of his 'jokes' are serious - why he's soo funny ; )
edit: Just for fun did you know Mani has referred to the band in the past as four little communists? And Ian was briefly in a leftist organisation the Socialist Workers Party (SWP) in Britain.
And I am actually interested in new material not a rehashing of the old tunes.

I was buzzing on the news. Never got to see em 1st time round so hoping to get a ticket on Friday. Theres always the niggle at the back of the mind that they'll just be old fat n crap like so many other reformed bands.

It will be interesting to see if they sell out both gigs. How many of this generation are interested? I think there could be a hell of a lot of people who go who aren't really into them but feel they should be there on account of some mystical and often complete bollocks myth about the band being the best thing since sliced bread and how they changed the world and all that bollocks, kinda like a fashion/'hipster' thing.
...oh my I am getting so cynical in my 'old age'...
On the other hand both gigs could sell out in five minutes.
From a distance they actually look exactly the same as 'back in the day'....but yeah they could be crap when it comes down to it. I thought Reni was being respectfully cautious in the press conference and was more realistic! The others seem a bit over confident.
o well this is ok I guess

Seeing as Ian Brown has enough of a solo career to not have to do something as simple as a reunion tour, a third album is entirely possible.

Is this like a second coming or something?
Sorry.

We have a winner!

Mixed feelings about this, TBH. We've all seen bands reform and it's been nothing like it was before.
