Haha, so the joke goes.... (Sorry for my bad English)
Two roommates, a liberal and a conservative, are on the couch watching TV when a news report of a murder comes on. The murderer is revealed to come from a broken family and took out his anger on society. The reporter then poses the question: How should we try to curb crime from broken families?

The two of them get into an argument. The liberal says "We should establish social programs for the poor and reform prison to gear it towards rehabilitation to make sure these awful crimes don't happen again!" The conservative sneers and says "Nonsense! That's just coddling criminals. The real solution is to give him a fair trial and put him in a tough prison so that he can learn his lesson and will be made an example of for others to follow." Their argument grows intense, when their third roommate, a libertarian walks in. The two agree that he will be a fair judge on how to handle criminals, so they pose the same question to him.

The libertarian beams and says "Why, we should handle criminals just like us libertarians handle everything else. LET THE FREE MARKET DECIDE!"

I like how right-wingers use the "invisible hand" argument.
IIRC, Smith literally mentioned it once in The Wealth of Nations.
Overblown much?
