I think the Capitalists and the Capitalist Politicians don't even believe in Religion or God they just use Religion to keep their power would anyone agree with this theory ? Even if the Capitalists do in fact believe in Religion they still use Religion to keep the Workers down and to keep their power. Capitalists and Capitalist Politicians pretend to believe in God and in Religion to win and get Votes from Theists. I think when the Capitalists and the Capitalist Politicians say they are Theists they are Liars. My question would anyone agree with this theory ?

Why does it matter whether or not the bourgeois politicians are atheists or not?

some do and some don't. When you are very rich and very powerful you look for a reason for why you are rich when everyone else is poor. There's two normal conclusions that they come to

either

"I'm rich because I'm really clever and work really hard and they're poor because they're stupid and lazy"

Or

"I'm rich because God loves me and I please him and he rewards me for it"

yes that is the depths of logic that most will sink to as they have no reason to look any further for answers.

In the US, there is a direct correlation between hardcore right-wing capitalism and fundamentalist Christianity. Republicans are expected to defend "Christian values", and being a good christian goes hand in hand with supporting the rich, opposing social benefits for the needy, and supporting overseas wars and the military. There's also an unwritten rule in the US that you have to be a Christian if you want to succeed in politics. I think atheism is mainly prevalent among bankers and company CEO's, but capitalist politicians are all (or claim to be) Christians. To be a good, moral, freedom loving Christian in the US, you have to support capitalism, give money to your church even if you're starving to death, oppose environmental protection, support big business, and are expected to believe that pollution is harmless and global warming is a leftist myth made up to destroy America.
