Do any of you listen to Robert Johnson? he's an amazing blues artist from the 1930's, definately one of the best of all time. His music inspired Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters, The Stones, almost all great rock guitarists, he was born in the mississippi delta in 1911 he married at twenty to a sixteen year old he knocked up but she died during childbirth afterwhich he was run out of town becuz he was out drinking at the time when it happened, he went on to learn to play guitar and was horrible at it until he left for many months and as legend has it he went and sold his soul to the devil in order to be able to play guitar, supposedly a big bald black man came and tuned his guitar and he was amazing from there on in. This is all legend, during this time he was out studying under negro blues masters such as Son House and Willie Brown. He died in 1938 while drunk and poisoned and on all fours barking like a dog. He had been poisoned by a jealous husband who's wife he had screwed. His music is still as good today as it was during the 30's i find there to be something more honest about this music then the stuff today this man sang blues because he was expressing himself not becuz he was trying to make money (though his family earned millions in rereleases later) a false image as most artists do today. i suggest you all sample some of his music it is really good i recommend the songs Steady Rollin'Man, Me and the Devil, Crossroad Blues, Four Till Late and Ramblin' on my mind.

Robert Johnson is definitely a blues legend, clapton especially appreciated him and did versions of four til late and crossroads most notably, but I recall an interview with Keith Richards (Stones guitar man) in which Keith said the first time he heard Robert Johnson, he thought there were two people playing, that was the complexity and virtuosity of his playing. Amazing, I'm just looking for a place where I can trade in my soul.
Besides California.

I love that. He's an American Legend. Didn't those Coen brothers put "him" in "O Brother! Where Art Thou?", in a sense?
Regardless, that is not their best movie. In fact, I am at the part right now in The Big Lebowski with the Marmot.
Nihilist: "We'll cut off your johnson"!
Nihilist: Just you think about that, Lebowski.
Nihilist: Yeah, your wiggly penis, Lebowski.
Nihilist: Yeah and maybe we stomp on it and squoosh it, Lebowski.

That's the way I'm going out.
On another note, which one is his grave?

who would dare put duct tape on a Robert Johnson monument?
and the big lebowski, man, who's seen it?
"You ready to be fucked man? I see you rolled your way into the semis. Dios mio, man. Liam and me, we're gonna fuck you up."
but that's a discussion in itself.

The site I stole the picture from said someone had put his stamp on the monument, I suppose that's what it is:
