"If you go all the way Marxist you save your self a lot of the bullshit." RIGHT?

Maybe it's not exactly "Marxism". But Class Conscious?

I notice that a lot of my friends who consider them selves left-wing, progressive, agree with socialism and other commie theories don't go "all the way". What do I mean by that?

They trust that the system will get better.. and yes.. that Ron Paul is the answer. They still have a "LIL HOPE" for Obama... lol.. WTF is this? The feel the United Nations are the most legit and pure organization on Earth.. they pin their trust in them and also act like Amnesty International is the moral judge on the world.

I figured.. if you are a Marxist you know all that stuff is bullshit and you look past it. You don't let it fool you. Why not just go the extra step and stand side by side with the working class and not just hang around here and there.. having a lil faith in the system when it feels good?

it fucking drives me crazy!

Clearly, they haven't developed a revolutionary class consciousness. This is why they haven't gone "all the way" in the sense you mean it. They're still fundamentally reformists (although that's also a stretch if they support Ron Paul).

Reform or Revolution by Luxemburg may aid you in discussing the issue with them, or suggesting them to read it may help.

They have to be given suggested reads. If they, like many social dems and capitalists, refuse to read Marx and Marxist literature, they will never know.

I don't think that these people, whose motives and reasons for timidity in thought (and practice!) are probably very differentiated, would benefit immensly from being presented first with Marx's writings. In stead, I think they should hear or read a well grounded historical explanation of the fall of the reformist project known as the welfare state, specifically centered on the concrete reasons why it is impossible for global capitalism to continually improve the lives of the working class, and why reforms are contingent to the real development and movement of capital, producing tremendeous social antagonisms and conflict.

That's like having sex but not going 'all the way'

Leftism = sex

Communism = orgasm

Reminds me of Christians who are like "Well, I don't really believe in god or the bible, but I'm still a Christian maaaan"
