I've met people who think Hitler was a communist. I'm honestly not surprised someone thinks Mussolini was a commie, too.

To one of them, I tried to explain that he wasn't ... and what communism is. I just got weird looks.

It's kind of like trying to explain to people that Obama's not a socialist. If they think that ... they won't listen to you. I call it "sitting around and smelling each other's farts". I use the phrase to describe people who sit around and spout off bullshit to each other so they can hear other people say bullshit they agree with.

I've kept politics to a minimum at bars since. Although one time I was getting into libcom theory with someone and a Zapatista sympathizer jumped in to back me up. I had never met the guy before. Haven't seen him since.
