Seems to be somthing going down here in a few hours, been reading up on it and a lot of the people seem pretty damn reformist; should i participate? I'm thinking of going because; hell there probably wont be any dirty commies there, so i need to fill that void.

I am participating. I have posted reports in the Occupy subforum on the Occupy Northern California thread. Last protest there weren't many revolutionary leftists there so it would be nice to see more this time.

Hopefully this gets moved so I don't have to keep hijacking the California thread.
Anyways, I went to the protest and took the flyer NHIA made. I didn't wear my Marx shirt, but made a simple "Marx was right" sign. The first flyer I handed out was to a person handing out stickers. He looked at it and then gave me either a dirty look or was a Revlefter and didn't know whether he should introduce himself or not. I am guessing it was a dirty look. After that fiasco I only handed out 3 more because I am already pretty shy and that look really took out my self confidence. Three people liked the sign while most seemed either to not care or didn't like it and gave me a dirty look. The point I am making is that this is a pretty un-radical crowd here.
There was a recruiter for the Socialist Equality Party there. He handed out their statement on the protests and seemed to leave. Not sure if he recruited anybody, but at least there was an organized group recruiting there. Better than nothing.
The march was on the Fremont Street Experience. We went back and forth and it got boring so I left. There was probably a 1000 people there maybe less. No police violence and everything was pretty normal really.
There is actions planned on Monday at the Western Democrat event and on Tuesday for the Western Republican event. The next march is on the Strip on Thursday at the Caesars Palace.

I might show up but since I have been having car trouble lately I might not be able to make the drive to Vegas. I was curious if Vegas would join in. I have no idea how the Far Left is doing in Vegas I know a lot of Boneheads have been making it their scene for a while though.

They need supplies for the occupation and yard sale. Sounds like they've been doing well on this front with actual futons possibly being donated.

The march was boring. There was some SEIU and Dealers union people there and there was some CNN politics and Dave Weigel of Slate was there.
One guy said I was making the movement look bad with the Marx was right sign. He said it made me look like a Communist! Really? I guess I shouldn't bring that sign because people might think I'm a Communist and I am certainly not a Communist.

The Occupation site is on Tropicana and Paradise. Apparently they are setting up camp now. It will be interesting to see how this all sets up. There seems to be a growing number of Ron Paul people showing up to these things so I hope that people stand up against that.

Apparently the people in OLV kicked somebody out for hate speech. I guess it was one of those crazy anti zionists who think Jews control everything. You can tell its a far right person because the people who issued a group meeting or statement said something about not letting communists censor speech.
There is a GA about this tonight apparently if anybody is interested.

Doesn't surprise me Las Vegas and Clark County have been a stronghold for Neo-Nazism ever since Utah ran them out because they were an embarrassment to the Governor whose nephew was leading them back in the 90s.

That GA was so dramatic and drawn out. There was some militia members trying to take over the group and they had an emergency meeting to deal with it. The big problem was that bylaws were passed without letting the people watching on livestream vote. I voted with the people who wanted to invalidate the meeting. Well apparently OLV is a non profit so bylaws need to be enabled put in place so it took hours to finally agree to bylaws that are only in effect for two days until people can read them and start voting on shit.
This all happened because a few people can block a large majority from doing anything. Hell one time it was only like two people blocking the vote. Why can't we do a majority vote? We almost had to cancel everything because we were about to break noise ordinance. So stupid that it took that long for one agenda item.

The occupy site has been hacked so if anybody is interested in OLV don't go to their official site.

What's the turnout like over there?

Over a 100 for the GA I attended and more than a 1000 for the big protests. Not huge, but bigger than should be expected from a place like Vegas.
There is a protest at NV Energy tomorrow at 3 if anybody is interested. The location is Sahara and Jones which is close by to Taco Bell so I might go for that reason alone.
