Seriously? It's come down to this? Accusing the protestors of being Anti-Semites? How are they Anti-Semites?

The GOP are really trying to get the Jewish vote. They will most likely fail considering most Jews in the U.S. are liberal.

LMAO:laugh::laugh:

People really can't get any more deluded/brainwashed.
As for the "anti-semite" story...who is yet to be called an anti-semite nowadays? They use that all the time:rolleyes:

I don't know anyone more anti-semitic (in the sense that they are hurting the Jewish people)currently around than the Israeli ruling classes and their lobbyists abroad.

I hate the false dichotomy of anti-Zionist and anti-Semite..

If you think there aren't anti-semites involved in the occupy movement then you're lying to yourself.

There are also homophobes, transphobes, misogynists, rapists, racists, capitalists, conspiracy theorists, and any other host of ideologies which we find reprehensible.

Its the nature of a mass movement involving large amounts of people.

I understand that, the same could be said for any large movement. However, they labeled the whole thing as being anti-Semitic...which I think is very, very far from the truth.

Yeah I know what you meant. I just wanted to make a note that its important to acknowledge these things (and even more important to combat them).

But the whole essence of struggle is the idea that old ideas will perish in a sea of solidarity and peoples minds transformed. If this movement can develop, these things, if they are attributed to this struggle, will fade away as it grows.

....and labelling the protest 'anti-Semitic' is just a cheap attempt to scaremonger.

If you've ever looked on forums like Stormfront, you may notice that they like to deny the Holocaust, as well as act as if the "liberals" (meaning anyone who isn't a WS/WN) are somehow brainwashed into believing that the Holocaust took place (WS/WN don't like to pay attention to the overwhelming evidence that proves that the Holocaust did take place. They're not exactly the most intelligent crowd around). They truly believe that the "liberals" are afraid to criticise Israel lest they be called Nazis.

This is basically the sort of fear mongering that ignores Godwin's Law and tries to scare people quiet by accusing them of being anti-Semitic and therefore, Nazis. That and these people probably really believe that Jewish people control the world and the banks.

GOP Logic
1. Some Nazis support OWS
2. OWS is anti semetic

1. David Duke declares support for the Tea Party
2. Saying that the Tea Party is racist is unfair because not every Tea Partier is David Duke.

Yes, except in this case it's not just that any large movement will have all kinds of problems but that from the beginning the "anti-corporate" thrust attracted and made room for right-wing libertarians and conspiracy theorists who might not be anti-Semitic through and through but love to talk about the Rothschilds for instance--I encountered two of them at the big Oct 5th march. "I'm not anti-Semitic but...the Rothschilds...".

Again, it's not just that it's a large movement but the undefined "anti-corporate" message makes room for such nonsense. I will say that I never saw signs at OWS itself with any such messages (though scratch a "End the Fed" sign and you might just find one). I saw the OWS twitter feed mock the "anti-Semitic" accusation--the rejection of that claim would have more weight if I had heard they were taking action--even if just educational work--against such attitudes.

In Las Vegas some guy had a sign that said "Zionists control the media". What's worse is I think he was being interviewed by the local news. Fucking inside job types make us look worse than any hippie ever has.

I agree and the vague "anti-corporate" message of the movement has been my primary sticking point since it began.
