I've encountered some on this site that seem to think that trying to appeal to the general public is a betrayal of core principles. Let me give an example.

"The american system of government is rotten to the core and must be completely destroyed." Sounds great on here, but to the general public it might seem radical. Bring up images of burning buildings, and the like.
Vs
"The American system has been on the decline for some time, and now appears beyond recovery. We must discard that which is broken, and build a new paradigm for our future." Softer more cuddly communism yes, but wider appeal no?

I would think most on this site would talk differently to a worker who is on the fence about socialism and a fellow socialist or revlefter.

I know that even the most radical organizations tend to tone down the rhetoric when publishing material for the the general public.
