As Salamu Alaykum Revleft,
I've lurked this forum for a while mostly in the Palestinian struggle section of the websites and in the economics section too. May I have the honor of introducing myself I am from Beirut Lebanon although I was born in al-Quds before my family was forced to leave by occupational forces due to the conflict. I am a supporter of the general military command of the Popular Front of the Liberation of Palestine and am a member of the the March 8th Alliance in Beirut and have voted for Hizballah in the 2009 elections.
Other than this I enjoy music, foreign films and making art.
Maa salaama :o

Hello and welcome, but, might I ask why you voted for an anti-communist and anti-proletarian organization like Hezbollah?
Word of advise: try to re-build the secular left in Lebanon rather than clinging to popular Islamist movements. Otherwise us communists will be nothing but parasitic shadows of the reactionaries.

"might I ask why you voted for an anti-communist and anti-proletarian organization like Hezbollah"
I voted for Hizbullah due to them being the only party that can really offer a resistance to the imperialist March 14 Alliance which at its core is a representative of imperialism in the same way that the South Lebanon Army was. Hizbullah too are friends of the struggle throughout the world they have worked with communist militias in order to ensure the success of the struggle and self defense of Lebanon against imperialism and have provided for the people of Lebanon in ways that the imperialist bourgeois hasn't been able to do like the funding of establishments throughout Lebanon for the Lebanese people.
"try to re-build the secular left in Lebanon rather than clinging to popular Islamist movements"
I have been working with many secular leftist organizations in Lebanon like the Lebanese Communist Party which at its core is a proletarian organization resisting capitalist exploitation, alienation and imperialism in Lebanon. Hizbullah though while it is Islamist isn't sectarian they have openly respected Christian religious communities in Lebanon and have worked with Christians in community work and in the armed struggle. We do not get the conditions that we want though we get the conditions that we are given and the conditions currently are telling us that we must work with many parties in order to truly build a working class force and at the same time resist imperialism. Currently this calls for working with organizations such as Hizbullah.
"Otherwise us communists will be nothing but parasitic shadows of the reactionaries"
Only if we do not dare to continue the struggle against capitalism will this ever happen.

very welcome!
another question, if you are an pflp-supporter why do you have a quote of abu-nidal (a man considered a traitor by the PFLP and who was under orders to be killed by the PLO) in your signature?

It is a different group. It is a Syrian backed split from the PFLP. The Nidal group was a split from the Fatah. It worked alongside both PFLP's for many years.

I've been criticised on this site for believing in objective morality. Any argument based on what is moral will quickly come under fire here. There is a bias toward stark atheism, so pervasive that even Hellenistic philosophy often will strike some on this site as overly religious.

And if that's a problem for you I suggest leaving.

It is no problem. I respect the prevailing mind set, and willingly censor myself.
The one thing I really do object to is your quickness to suggest I leave. It feels intolerant. I'm only down for a revolution that emphasizes tolerance, that includes people of faith.
I don't condemn anyone else for their religious or anti religious views. I was only trying to warn our new comrades against making the same mistakes I have made. You have conveniently proven for me that there is a great deal of intolerance for anyone that fails to live up to a 100% secular standard on this site. You attack when all I concretely said was that I believe in objective morality, and I will defend that point if need be. This is a useful object lesson.

You don't have to "censor" yourself, you just need to be prepared for an argument. You aren't going to be scolded by everyone and thrown in a Gulag for thinking that Ethical Absolutism is real.

I suggest you do not make posts like this ever again. It isn't your job to represent Revleft and it isn't your job to turn people away or to administer membership here.
Introductions by its nature is somewhat more relaxed because it is a low-content board, but that doesn't necessitate posts like this which are never welcome.
If I see you seriously telling people to leave the site in Introductions (or anywhere else) ever again, I'm going to lay the smack down. Consider yourself warned.

The Idler told me to leave like a week ago and no one did anything about it? Perhaps that's why I thought it was okay...

He did? I must have missed this one. Can you please link me to the post in question?
You're not being singled out, I promise. If you see anybody do this and they don't get warned or punished for it, let me know.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I've warned him.
I do not normally browse that particular board so I missed it, but if anybody sees this sort of thing go unnoticed, please let me know.
