In the post-world war one America, how was life different to that of pre-war us? Did the living standards get better or worse? What were the major technological advancements? How did things change in terms of factories and workers rights?
[sorry if this seems like an overload of questions - I'm just rather curious about an era I don't know much about]

As usual, the most interesting questions are the most difficult to answer.
There are probably statistics somewhere that would address your question better than any generalities I, or most history textbooks for that matter, could offer.
I don't know if this would be feasible for you, but right now I'm looking at my town's major union newspaper during World War II as part of a research project. What I've looked at doesn't address your time frame, but I can confidently say that if you can get your hands on some primary sources like that, you can get a very good idea of the zeitgeist of what it felt like to live as a worker in that time and place--not only from what the articles address, but from the little things like what sort of advertisements for what sort of products appear in the margins, the style of rhetoric, and other subtle things that you won't get from reading about it in textbooks.

Thank you for the information. Although it was extremely interesting, it's not exactly what I'm looking for, sorry

I read on Shmoop that while the common image of the 1920s (http://www.shmoop.com/1920s/) is of extravagance, affluence and wealth, the Great Depression had already started for the farmers because the prices of crops had collapsed. 90% farmers didn’t have electricity.
