I'm not currently a union member but I am very supportive of Ryan. His slate is here: http://www.oflunityteam.ca/ Ryan is a very left social democrat and has been great on rebuilding the OFL as a movement driven organization.

Ontario Federation of Labour president Sid Ryan has taken the unprecedented step of forming a unity team to oust the groups other two top officers and end internal turmoil plaguing the provinces biggest union organization.

Ryans slate will try to dump federation secretary treasurer Marie Kelly and executive vice-president Terry Downey if they run again in a showdown at the OFLs annual convention in Toronto next month.

It marks the first time in the federations 67-year history that the president is openly campaigning against its other two top officers in response to chronic internal disagreements and challenges to his authority.

The fiery Ryan, who won the presidents job by acclamation in 2009, would not discuss details of the turmoil on Friday but his slate said in a recent letter that the infighting has affected the progress of the OFL, which represents about one million workers.

For close to two years, the OFL has been held back by wasteful and counterproductive internal conflict that has undermined the work of the president and threatened the financial integrity of the federation, said the slates letter to the federations 40-member executive board.
