It is not my intention to start a debate about policies or theory, just posting the website for anyone who may be interested. The RLF essentially was formed in a military prison by soldiers that disobeyed commands of officers after becoming politically radicalized. Membership is just shy of 3000 and much more coming on the site in the next few weeks. The site is oriented towards working class people with little knowledge of Marxism. However there will be several pieces of literature geared towards those with a higher degree of knowledge in regards to revolutionary literature.

Oh, is this that one we talked about in Graphics?

Yes, still needs a ton of work, right now it is used to organize our members as we are spread across the country.

Looking nice ;)
The comrades in the pics even have either beards and/or long hair :D(makes for a "classic" revolutionary look)
Anyway good luck

Interesting. Though as purely an aesthetic quibble, maybe it's not the best idea to put pictures of the same one or two people on almost every page of the website.

The registration page says that i haven't chosen a content/mail list setting when that isn't an option.

With a "Membership just shy of 3,000," the Front would be the biggest leftist organization in the US, if that is where it is active. (They could be Canadians, who knows?)
"We have no fear as we strongly believe in the liberation of the working class: There will be no pen names or secret meetings. The RLF takes a firm stand, and believes public exposure, as often as possible, is the best way to promote working class solidarity...."
Well, James Cannon was opposed to underground organizations, but the above sure sounds to me like ultra-sincere people unwittingly setting themselves up for being repressed, running the risk of encountering "the full weight of" ... bourgeois injustice, and the Obama administration is not shy about targeting leftists.
Does anyone have any idea about the actual politics of this group? I just wondered what kind of politics leads to a military self-presentation, like the Front's. My experience is that veterans (of whom I am one) do not tend to be militarists, but I could be mistaken.

I'm going to be really blunt about how I say this but the RLF's members look pretty ridiculous in their commie caps to say the least. It's just the kind of leftist roleplay I despise; dressing yourself up as a revolutionary guerrilla or whatever. Workers care little for such roleplay either, and they just see these types as dirty hipster clowns with little relevance to the everyday struggles of the working class. Also I seriously do not know of any ordinary workers who would visit that site and not be immediately turned off by the leftist symbolism plastered everywhere and the imo hideous colour scheme. Keep it somewhat minimalistic.
Politically speaking, the RLF's views on the vanguard seem pretty solid, at least, which is definitely a plus compared to what nearly all the other communist parties see the vanguard as (i.e. themselves).

I think I read that the target audience for recruiting was disaffected military personnel.Presumably this would be a good thing with all the symbolism (assuming such is the case).

Just because you're communists doesn't mean your site should have yellow writing on a red background...

That's a pretty small portion of the working class, I assure you. If this is indeed the recruiting strategy of the RLF then it's doomed from the start.

Almost 13% of the entire civilian population were veterans in the US in the year 2000 (not including active duty personnel. After 911 enlistment drastically went up. An eighth of the population (or more) is in fact a huge portion of the population. In regards to the hats, this is the way we plan to identify officers in large crowds during upcoming events. The choice of style is up to the individual as we have no uniform policy. However many of our members choose a militant style because we have no illusions, the system can't be reformed, and tearing it down may come in a drastic form. We will see what happens if the US begins Marshall law. The occupy movements are seeing more organizers, and many of a far left variety. Don't forget how the government sent in troops in the 60's. It can easily happen again. In any case the RLF has prepared for any outcome that the American people choose.

So is the plan to make a militant and trained force to defend and support protesters or something?

You can't win a revolution with 13% of the population. Most vets aren't really disaffected either.
Your "officers" will probably also get beaten up for looking like pretentious wankers. I really advise against the hat idea.

I am a veteran, a worker, and a revolutionary. I think I can say this on behalf of the Front, we thoroughly understand the materialist conditions of the current US. We will take our chances. Anyways there is no point to debating, we will be doing a lot of organizing now that we can database members and connect them in minutes. However, I will note your opposition and wish you luck on the Australian front.

We will defend workers in any case, but violence is always a last resort. Our main focus is materialist education, and democratic organizing.
