This is true but you must remember that America isn't Europe.
Last year in English my teacher would recall us with tales about how the electoral figures in europe would never say anything like the politicans in America would and how she was continuously surprised at the people elected in the United States.Evidently in Europe the bourgeois propaganda is strong but not "extra strength" like in America ( "Would you like more religious fanaticism in your politics?" ..."Why yes I would").
She was surprised that Ronald Reagen was elected.:lol:

Actually there may be some truth to the proposal mentioned by the OP. Yes the US is the major imperialist power today but...
ever notice how strange it was how the American colonists beat the British? The British had the greatest army in the world at the time, Washington was not really a sterling general,and its a myth that the colonists were fighting on their home ground-the Continental Army soldiers were often far from home. The Muricans lost all the battles but won the war.
The classic bourgeois revolutions, from 1789 to 1848 probably woundn't have occured w/out the Murican's example. Ever think of that? Huh? Huh?
The socialist revolution will occur first in Murica within the next 10 years. Don't ask me how I know this, I just do. The Occupy # Movement is the faint beginning of what will become a vast upheaval.
Then, we'll liberate you Europeans. Although imperialism isn't possible under socialism, we'll spread our glorious proletarian culture.We;ll replace local cuisine with our People's Burgers.

Honestly, what else did you expect? Americans, by and large, value a politician who espouses beliefs that align with Christian fundamentalism as well as American exceptionalism. An atheist or secular politician wouldn't even make it past the first round of primaries. :crying:

Well, I don't think it's strange at all why the colonists won... The French. You know, La Fayette and the French Navy, etc... Never would have happened without them...

No it's true, The American Revolution had a lot to do with the inspiration of the French Revolution. La Fayette brought back a lot of new ideas about liberty, the rights of men, etc. having to do with the Enlightenment period. And Thomas Paine was a huge influence on the revolution writting The Rights of Man... anyway, I'm just rambling now...
So I think it's safe to assume the French Revolution would have never happened (or at least not for several years later) if the American Revolution was not successful...

Christians who go around claiming America as a Christian nation because of the few Judeo-Christian symbolic references found on various artifacts ("God" on coins, 10 Commandments in front of court houses, etc.) fail to realize that our founding fathers never intended our country to reflect Christian principles. They formed a secular government (the first in the world) in order to separate religion from politics.

For the last 20, the US Airforce taught a course on ethics and morality in war, and set forth what it calls the "Christian just war theory" i.e. that war is morally right from a Christian standpoint. They stopped the course this year after this got leaked, but it shows the despicable lengths that right wing fundies go to in order to manipulate US policy, especially in their favourite subject, overseas wars.
