Speaking on his radio show Monday, Beck made his already-crystal-clear disdain for the protests, which have spread across the U.S., even more plain. He took a slightly surprising turn, though, in warning establishment Democrats like Nancy Pelosi (who has voiced her support for the movement (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/09/nancy-pelosi-wall-street-protests_n_1002289.html)) as well as any rich backers of the protests not to trust anyone in Occupy Wall Street.

I was thinking the same thing. I think it is a good sign that they fear the group. However, at the same time the fact that most of the US gets their news from these mainstream reactionaries can also cause problems for the movement. Only time will tell how effective their scare tactics will be.

Hey, what the hell was wrong with Robespierre? As historical figures go, he was pretty good. The problem with OWS is that it is so amorphous. Even if unions become more involved, like in Oakland, with no specific demands (unless, "make capitalism just" is a demand), where does this go? I follow it with interest, but modest expectations.
