View Full Version : Leftish vs Rightish propaganda

Well I think leftish propaganda is always far better than rightish propaganda, due it is quit amusing and is less serious. But here you can post both leftish as rightish propaganda and say wich you find the best. Ok, I shall start ;)
EDIT: Try to find the best propaganda possible, not all rightish propaganda is bad (you can think its a bad ideology but have to admit the propaganda is sometimes good)

I don't see how the first picture you posted is bad capitalist propaganda. Actually, that handsome young chap in the background looks quite friendly to me.

I like this one, it says, "Homosexuals go take over france and kill them with kindness."
http://www.sdcoe.k12.ca.us/score/wwivm/BroadwayLyric.jpg
This one is good also, "The craziest of the canines, the pit bull, loves america."
http://www.nyx.net/~mbur/WWIPitWithFlag.jpg
This was made when it was okay to be insane and hear voices tell you to do bad things, because the voices were just the invisible hitler talking, and you weren't insane, well you weren't till after WWII.
http://www.johndclare.net/images/wwii4.takethem.jpg
This one makes no godamn sense, they are trying to get you to feel guilty by saying, "Are you the absent one", but the one I see being absent is the Rich Guy by not being in line with all the rest of the troops there. "Who's absent? The rich guy is absent and look he is even showing off 10 feet from the troops that are going to die. "Lookie me, I am all rich and fat and not going to die, hahahaha bet you guys wish you were rich and fat. Dead men walking. Tell me how the mustard gas went for you boys."

Are we taking into account the intended audience of the propaganda?
Most leftish propaganda we see is desinged by small groups to appeal to the intellectuals.
The right wing propaganda we see here is generally produced by a ruling power to appeal to the less intelligent masses and thus contains a much more obvious and patriotic emotional message.

I disagree. I dont think you can generalise to that extent. I meen look at all those soviet union posters above, they are produced by a ruling power, designed to give a patriotic and in many cases emotional messege.

True, but those soviet posters are not that recent and I think FM means the leftish propaganda used now. Since in only a few countries the leftish side is the ruling side.

well perhaps so, but thats only due to circumstances, its nothing to do with the actual nature of the propaganda and how it works.

True, but it only proves that propaganda of the dominant force is really patriotic due the fact they have everything to gain if the people are pro their own country and pro their own goverment ;)

I still think Audience is the important factor. All these examples of propaganda have been carefully targeted at specific groups in society.
You cant say some are worse than others just because you dont fall into or can empathise with teh target audience.

Much to the fear of Exploited Class, the ghost of Hitler is on the move once again. In this poster, Americans are warned to make sure that all of the seats in their car are taken by other passesngers or destroyed. If not, hitler may hitch-hike with you on the way home:

Ironic really, considering the American government's recruitment of Nazi scientists, and their rearming of the German army in Korea, you could almost say they were riding with the Nazis....

well, depends where you stand on government control. leninism relies on a "benevolent dictatorship" to work for the interests of the people. but whether or not you think lenin fit the description, stalin to most people proves pretty conclusively why you can't rely on good will. one leader may be benevolent, but who's to say the next one will be?

True, but Stalin got his power not really by the system that Lenin created. Stalin got his power from his wits and power. Lenin was a good leader in my perspective, from what I have seen and read about the man, I don't find him a bad person.

that was my point, he might not have been a bad person, but in the absence of controls against government, the following leader was unrestrained to be as corrupt and as tyrannical as he wanted. we shouldn't just rely on leaders being good, we should make sure it doesn't matter if they are good. a leader should always be accountable and subject to expulsion if the need arises. I think the need was there when stalin came to power, don't you?

Yes, but I think Stalin was no fool or madman like most people think about him. He was a clever guy and he wasn't that bad of leader too, he deserves credit for a golden age of Russia when he assumed control of the Soviet Union. Look what Russia is now today without the Soviet Union and without Stalin <_<
