Does Anarchism help or hinder fair trade?

Hi, a capitalist friend asked me this question the other day, and I wasn't sure how to answer. Does anyone have any views on this?

I think the reason you haven't gotten any responses is that the question is ambiguous. Do you mean, "Would Emma Goldman buy her coffee from co-ops?" Or do you mean anarchism as an ideology, and its relationship to capitalism as a practice?

Do you mean that if we had a stateless society would prices and wages be more fair, ie. Marxism or Tuckerite Mutualism?
If that's the case I would say yes, because Capitalism wouldn't work without the state propping it up and even An-Caps would say that we'll have much more Worker's rights and the competition will mean prices are reduced to somewhere near what the labour theory of value assigns even if the price is governed by market forces rather than a state or syndicates.

As it stands now in the Capitalist economic system--- NO, Anarchists don't support Fair Trade or Fair Trade Agreements---such as NAFTA, FTF, EFTO, WTO, because ironically, they are Unfair and Unjust, as a product and growth, imbalance and inequity of the Market system.
