I'm specifically trying to figure out the role of "leaders" or representatives in these assemblies. Occupy Wall Street is currently a disorganized mass due to its consensus democracy model, so I would like to know how past popular assemblies have worked so that I can propose an alternative model to my local OWS. I tried proposing instantly recallable leaders, but almost nobody supported the idea, so I'd like to be able to articulate the structure of non-consensus democracy models more thoroughly.
